How Does The Tire-Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) Work?

The tire pressure monitoring system can automatically monitor various conditions of the tire in real time by recording the tire speed or the electronic sensor installed in the tire, which can provide effective safety guarantee for driving.

The tire pressure monitoring system can be divided into two types, one is the indirect tire pressure monitoring system, which judges whether the tire is abnormal by the difference of the tire speed, the other is the direct tire pressure monitoring system, by adding four tire pressure sensors in the tire, which can automatically monitor tire pressure and temperature in real time when the vehicle is stationary or while driving, and give timely alarms to tire high pressure, low pressure, and high temperature, so as to avoid traffic accidents caused by tire failures and ensure driving safety.

The automotive tire pressure monitoring system includes a tire pressure sensor ① and a TPMS receiver ②. The pressure, temperature, acceleration, and battery voltage data detected by the tire pressure sensor are transmitted to a dashboard ④ through a CAN bus ③. Select CAN transceiver and CAN controller, use CAN bus technology to send relevant alarm and fault information to the dashboard, the dashboard processes the information, and displays the fault code on the screen while performing sound and light alarms. These realize the online diagnosis function, let the driver know the fault status, contact the after-sales maintenance personnel in time, and achieve the purpose of fast and timely service for the driver.
